Phone and Email Types

Rhetorik360 provides standardized classifications for phone numbers and email addresses to ensure data consistency and usability across all entities — including Profiles, Contacts, and Companies. These categories help users understand the communication context and prioritize contact methods effectively.

Phone Types

Each phone record in Rhetorik360 is categorized under one of the following types:


Phone TypeDescription
MobileA personal mobile or cellular number, typically assigned to an individual. Used for direct and personal communication.
DDIA direct internal line assigned to an individual employee within a company. Bypasses the main company switchboard or reception.
BusinessA general company number, such as a main office or departmental line. May connect to a shared line or automated attendant.
UnknownA valid phone number where the specific type cannot be confidently identified based on available metadata.

Notes

  • Normalization: Phone types are harmonized across all data sources for consistency.
  • Priority Rule: When multiple phone numbers are available, preference is given in the following order: Mobile → DDI →Business → Unknown

Email Types

Each email address in Rhetorik360 is also classified based on its domain and usage context:


Email TypeDescription
BusinessA professional email address associated with a company domain (e.g., [email protected]). Typically used for B2B communication. Some SMB uses or leverage gmail as their business email explaning the gmail presences within business emails.
PersonalAn email address associated with a public email provider (e.g., hotmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com). Used for personal or direct contact.
UnknownThe email format is valid, but its type cannot be determined reliably from the domain. May require enrichment or verification.

Notes

  • Validation: All emails undergo syntax validation and normalization.
  • Domain Mapping: Rhetorik360 maintains an internal reference of known business and personal domains for accurate classification.
  • Priority Rule: When multiple email addresses exist for the same record, priority is given in the following order: Business → Personal → Unknown
